If you’re on the hunt for the perfect summer job, you might be asking how you can get hired at a Job Fair.
Job Fairs are your chance to meet different camps and bag your summer job on the spot.
In today’s Blog, Lyndon guides us through how to get hired at a Job Fair.
No matter how scary it can seem, there’s absolutely no need to be nervous about anything at a Job Fair.
After you meet a couple of Camp Directors, you’ll realize they’re all nice people. They want to hire nice people too!
Camp is their passion and they can’t help but share that passion with everyone they meet.
Being able to show your enthusiasm and excitement will be invaluable in an interview.
You’ll know which camps are attending the event in advance, so do some research on them.
If you’ve done your research, Camp Directors will notice and be impressed.
Camp is a 24/7 job for 9-10 weeks, so that drive and enthusiasm is incredibly important.
Make sure you know what’s on your profile and know your experiences inside out.
Camps will look at your profile and ask you about the specifics – your skills etc.
Be confident about the skills and experience you have because they want to hear you sell yourself.
Summer Camp Job Fairs give you the chance to interview with multiple camps in one day.
Make sure you know why you want to work at camp. Camp Directors will ask this at every interview.
Camps love applicants who are enthusiastic and prepared to explain why and what skills they can bring to camp.
When you meet camps and their Directors, be inquisitive, and don’t be scared to ask questions yourself!
One question I really like is “What do you love about your camp?”.
This puts the Camp Director on the spot a little, but they’ll like you want to know.
