Hockey is a huge part of life at camp in America!
Summer Camps in America are always looking to hire qualified coaches to lead their hockey sessions. And if you’re an ice hockey player, then they adapt that game into roller hockey. It’s really cool, camps have a roller hockey rink identical to ice hockey, it’s a pretty big deal.
Don’t worry if you don’t, what we need to do is find out your ability level, what experience you have and if you’ve ever experienced any coaching in the field.
If you’ve played hockey for a club, or for your college or university team, then you could be hired as a Camp Counselor to help run hockey sessions alongside an experienced coach.
Every day at camp is unique, and that’s part of the excitement of Summer Camp in America.
A typical day for a Hockey Coach at Summer Camp will see you running coaching sessions to help campers improve their skills, while also running and officiating matches.
You’ll be focused on making sure all the campers are having fun and getting the best out of their time at camp.
Camp’s not all work though! You’ll have plenty of time around the campfire tucking into traditional camp food! You get to enjoy everything camp has to offer, whether it’s jumping on the big “blob” in the lake, or creating a fun skit for the evening’s activities.
If you’d like to have a look through an example day that we’ve put together, head over to our Typical Day at Camp timeline.
