Get paid to spend your day cruising around the lake while ensuring the campers are safe whilst on and outside of the boat. As a Sailing and Waterboat Driver, it will be your job to help teach campers how to sail, kneeboard and waterski. Camps have ringos, banana boats and any other inflatable you can pull around! This is a pretty cool summer job.
As a Sailing and Waterboat Driver, you’ll have an amazing summer doing what you love as well as helping campers become more experienced and confident with watersports.
It’s not essential to have any qualifications to become a Sailing and Waterboat Driver, but it does help! If you do have a qualification, camps will be looking for applicants with Sailing or Motorboat qualifications at Level 1 or higher. Alternatively, if you have tonnes of experience, but no qualifications, camps can still hire you!
After a busy day on the lake, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get stuck into all of the fun camp activities camp has to offer whether that’s helping with sports activities, enjoying the pool at general swim or tucking into a s’more at campfire. Being by the water every day, you can basically guarantee an awesome summer tan (and even better tan lines!)

No, if you’re a strong driver, or sailor and have plenty of experience within these areas then you’ll be perfect for these roles at camp. If you want to get a Qualification, we recommend the RYA Courses,or visit your local centre.

First of all these jobs are about safety and respect for the water. Job dependent, but camps have huge lakes and fun programs that the kids choose that include all the favourite watersports. Your job is to help them have fun, and have a great time yourself!

Yes. You’ll have a full role in everything at summer camp. There are break periods, full days programs and evening activities. You’ll be a keen member or the evening skits, team chants and can get involved and help your team win colour war! You’re an integral part of the camp team!
