If spending your whole summer in the music department practicing, or playing in a rock band sounds like a dream, then we’ve got the perfect role for you!
Music is something nearly every camp in America will hire staff for and, as you can imagine, it covers a huge array of different genres and skill levels for you to sink your teeth into.
Camps tend to have great facilities, so you and the campers can record your songs and perform in pretty cool venues.
Each day at camp is a little different from the next, but that’s part of the fun of a Summer at Camp!
As a Music Teacher, your job will be to help campers improve their musical skill over the summer. It really is a great feeling seeing a camper enjoy playing a song or new instrument that you taught them!
But, Camp’s not all about work, so you’ll do a lot more than just teach music! There’s so much more for you to get involved with at camp.
From spending time around campfires tucking into traditional camp food to getting competitive at Colour War, there’s always something going on!
Take a look at what a typical day at camp would be like for a Camp Counselor teaching music.
To lead music sessions at camp this summer, camps will be looking for you to have a level 5 qualification in music, but being a Grade 8 would be a huge bonus.
Because music’s such a big part of camp, even if you have no qualifications, there’s still a chance for you to be a general counselor. Music will be an area you will spend a lot of time in!
