- Into Field, Ice or Roller Hockey?
Hockey is a huge part of life at camp in America! Summer Camps in America look to hire qualified coaches to lead hockey sessions. Teach hockey at summer at camp and find the perfect role for you. Whether you’re used to playing hockey on the field, ice or roller rink, camp has you covered. Camp typically won’t have an ice rink. However, if you’re an ice hockey player you’ll be able to swap your ice skates for roller skates. Prepare to get ready for a game of roller hockey in a warmer climate!
It’s not essential to hold any qualifications to teach hockey at camp. We’ll need to find out your ability level, what experience you have and if you’ve ever experienced any coaching in the field. If you’ve played hockey for a club, or for your college or university team, then you could be hired as a Camp Counselor to help run hockey sessions alongside an experienced coach.
A typical day teaching hockey at camp will see you running coaching sessions to help campers improve their skills. You’ll help to run and officiate matches. Alongside all of this, you’ll focus on making sure everyone is having fun. Making the most of everyone’s time at camp is the number one priority!
Ice hockey is big at camp, so some camps hold roller hockey inter-camp championships! They’ll have different age groups competing to be number 1!
