No you don’t. If you’re a strong swimmer then you’re ideal to work in a lifeguard job at camp. You’ll often be trained and will gain your American Red Cross (ARC).
Some people may have Swim Instructors Qualifications as well. We have amazing jobs teaching swimming as well at camp.
Yes. If you hold a NPLQ, RLSS or have an expired lifeguard qualification then this is perfect. You’ll usually take your American Red Cross (ARC) as well at camp which is another great addition to your CV.
Lifeguarding jobs are a lot of responsibility. Your training for the role will teach you how to keep the swimmers safe, you’ll learn first aid and be capable of rescuing people when required. Quite often a summer passes with no incidents so you get to sit in the sun and have fun with the kids and your fellow staff.
Yes. Even though you’re job role is a lifeguard, you’ll have an active part in camp. There are many breaks in the day for you to play other games, relax, grab a coffee or play a little soccer for example! You will join in with evening activities and skits and be a valuable team member in colour wars!
