Need help with a Summer Camp packing list? Trust me… I know how stressful it can be to try and cram three months worth of packing into one suitcase but don’t worry, I’ve got your back. Have a look at my advice. Everyone’s Summer Camp Packing List Should Include: 1. Summer Camp Documents Some of the most important things you’ll need for your trip to Summer Camp are documents to get into the US! You’ll need to make sure you pack your: Passport with your J1 visa inside DS-2019 and SEVIS receipt Insurance card Camp contract and camp’s contact details Onward travel plan details covering you from the airport to camp 2. Summer Camp Clothes A Summer Camp packing list wouldn’t be complete without clothes! Your clothes will probably get covered in paint, dirt, and sun cream (and that’s in the first week alone), so it’d be best to wear anything you really love on your days off and while you’re travelling after camp finishes. Packing Tip: Get clothes from Primark! I’ve bought jogger shorts for £2.50 and tee’s for £2 from there and they are LIFESAVERS! Once you get to Summer Camp in America, head to Walmart because they have everything! What clothes should you pack for camp? T-shirts (Remember your USA Summer Camp tee!) Athletic swimming costumes Shorts A raincoat Leggings or joggers Hoodies Long sleeved tops 3. Summer Camp Shoes You’ll need to invest in a comfy pair of trainers. Nothing’s worse than spending a whole summer in trainers that’ll rip your feet apart. Remember to take flip flops and crocs too because they’ll be the best shoes to wear around the pool and on your days off! 4. Summer Camp Fancy Dress and Spirit Days Fancy Dress and Spirit Days are some of the best days you’ll take part in while you’re at a Summer Camp in America. Remember to pack your fancy dress costumes! Spirit Days are your chance to bring a little something from home that represents you. It could be a flag of your country, pictures of your family, your favourite football team, or a souvenir. It’s also a great talking point with the kids as they’ll love to talk about your home! 5. Summer Camp Toiletries Pack less than you think you’ll need because Walmart will come to the rescue again! Pack little bottles of shampoo and body wash with you for the first two weeks and then buy the rest while you are there. Again the rule to remember – don’t overpack your suitcase! Summer Camp is an unforgettable adventure – everyone should experience!
