So, what’re the best American Summer Camp jobs?
Most American Summer Camps are set around a lake in the wilderness or have modern swimming pools. If spending all day kayaking or having fun on the inflatable jungle gym sounds good, then a water-based job might just be for you! Camps in America often hire Swimming Instructors, Lifeguards, Lake Leaders, and Windsurfing Instructors, and it’s not hard to see why they’re popular jobs.
What could be better than spending the summer being silly, putting on performances, and helping campers step out of their comfort zone? Some Summer Camps have whole departments dedicated to performing arts and put on productions during the summer. If you’re interested in working as a Magic and Circus Instructor, or in Performing Arts, then Summer Camp would be a great place to go!
This is definitely one of our favourite Summer Camp jobs at camp. Camp Counselors help take the campers around to their daily activities whilst making sure they are having the best summer ever! Counselors become like a big sister/brother to the campers, creating memories that they will never forget. It’s not all hard work though, you also get to be involved in the fun activities too! Is there really a better summer job out there?
We have to admit, campers are not the only ones who love getting involved in the Arts and Crafts department. As a Counselor, being able to dive deep into the world of friendship bracelets, painting and decorating takes us right back to our childhood. That’s why being an Arts and Crafts Specialist is one of the best jobs on camp. Whether you’re helping a camper make a friendship bracelet or learning how to tie-dye, your creative juices get to flow every day.
Summer Camps bring all their campers and Counselors together a few times a week around a camp fire. Every camp has its own traditions and camp fire songs. It’s usually someone’s job to light the fire and lead the ceremony. You’d be the star of the show! You’ll kick off the night, lead stories and games, and probably get the night’s first S’more.
